Charlie Griffin
I am currently a graduating senior triple majoring in Astronomy, Physics, and Math at the University of Arizona in Tucson. I have been selected to receive the Outstanding Senior Award (given only to the top graduating student) in both the Physics and Astronomy Departments. In addition to academic excellence I have worked in scientific research for the past three years, including: studying the first galaxies in the universe, and how their simulations can be improved for NASA, working to benchmark a mean field theory by simulating quantum transport in solid state systems for LSU, observing and reducing data from some of the largest telescopes on the Earth, and in space, and my latest project, studying the fundamental physics dictating quantum transport though the development of computer simulations.
